Underlay - Luxury Use

Underlay is often the forgotten hero of a room. It provides both sound and heat insulation, as well as adding a luxurious feel to your floor. Generally speaking underlay should be less than 13mm thick to avoid hampering the gripper rods, and unless underfloor heating is fitted, more than 8mm to give the insulation and feel required.

Coast Road Furniture uses luxury class underlay but unlike the large stores we do not up sell this product with a silly price attached. Our top of the range TREDAIRE underlay costs just £9.99 per square metre, and if bought with carpet means you are eligible for free fitting.

We chose this luxury 11mm thick underlay as we want our customers to have the best available, especially when there is so little cost to quality underlay. The thickness is designed to help cushion the flooring between the carpet and the sub floor, not only does this feel nice, it also prolongs the life of the carpet. As a luxury underlay this had one of highest tog ratings on the market of 3.13 tog. It means it’s a great choice when you’re laying your new floor in a cold room or subfloor.
