Plush Carpets

• - Definition: Sometimes referred to as a velvet pile carpet. The fibres are sheared to the same height for a very dense, even surface.
• - Texture: Even softer and more uniform than Saxony; even more prone to showing footprints.

• - Finish: Very formal, elegant, often used in high-end settings or bedrooms.

All plush carpets are Saxony-style, but not all Saxony carpets are plush. Plush = a type of Saxony with shorter, denser, and more uniform fibres.

Do Velvet Carpets Show Footprints?

One thing many customers notice with velvet carpets is the appearance of footprints, vacuum lines, and shading across the pile. This is completely normal and actually part of what gives velvet carpets their luxurious, soft appearance.

Because the fibres are densely packed and smoothly finished, the pile naturally changes direction slightly as you walk across it or vacuum it, creating lighter and darker areas depending on how the light hits the surface.
