Understanding Recent Price Changes in Flooring: What Our Customers Need to Know

Posted by Andy Hughes on

In recent weeks, you may have noticed changes in pricing across a wide range of flooring products. We believe it’s important to be open and transparent about why this is happening and what it means for you as our customer.

Global Events Are Impacting Local Flooring Prices

Ongoing conflict in the Middle East is currently affecting global markets and supply chains. While this may seem far removed from the UK flooring industry, the reality is that it has a direct impact on the materials and processes used to manufacture carpets and other flooring products.

As a result, our suppliers, and indeed manufacturers across the industry, are experiencing sharp and rapid increases in costs. These include:

  • Raw materials used in carpet and flooring production
  • Energy costs required for manufacturing
  • Transportation and logistics expenses
  • General operational overheads

Why Prices Are Changing

Like many businesses, our suppliers have worked hard to absorb as much of these increases as possible. However, the scale and speed of these rising costs mean that maintaining current pricing is no longer sustainable without compromising on quality, service, or reliability.

To ensure that the high standards you expect are maintained, temporary price adjustments, often in the form of surcharges, are being introduced across the industry.

What This Means for You

We want to reassure you of a few key points:

  • Supply remains secure – Despite the challenges, our suppliers have taken steps to ensure continuity of stock.
  • Quality is unchanged – Products will continue to meet the same high standards you expect.
  • Changes are being monitored closely – Any surcharges or price increases are under constant review and will be adjusted as conditions improve.

We will always aim to keep any increases as minimal as possible and will not be adding any retrospective price increases to any orders already in the system.

Looking Ahead

While it is difficult to predict exactly when markets will stabilise, we remain hopeful that these pressures are temporary. As conditions improve, we fully expect pricing to reflect that.

In the meantime, we appreciate your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions about current pricing or upcoming projects, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team - we’re always here to help.

Thank you for choosing us for your flooring needs.
